Sr. Business Intelligence and Data Engineer
About the Job
NextGen Tech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence & Data Analyst to support one of our clients, a leading US entertainment company. Our ideal candidate must have a strong background in analyzing and interpreting complex datasets as well as experience in designing and implementing business intelligence solutions to support business decision-making.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, advanced reporting, data modeling, and visualizations that drive business decision-making
- Conduct deep dives into various factors impacting business, content, and financial performance to help drive decisions
- Provide analytical support to all internal stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally across all departments to prioritize and generate insightful, compelling, and strategic analysis and plans
- Create and maintain existing dashboards in Looker
- Support the business by creating automated reporting processes
- Collaborate with the engineering team on data modeling and table structures
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure the BI solutions meet them
Requirements
- Must be available to work between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm United States Eastern Time
- 8+ years of experience in analytic roles with increasing responsibility
- 4+ years of proficiency with Python data manipulation
- Must have advanced level SQL knowledge for analytical purposes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets
- Experience with most of these technologies, tools, and analytical methodologies: Redshift, Jupyter Notebooks, Looker, Business Analysis, Problem Solving, Data Visualization, Analyzing Patterns, Business Intelligence, Statistical Analysis, Git, etc
- Experience with diving deeply into various applications and data sources to produce meaningful insights, create ad hoc reports and dashboards, customer experience visualizations, and proactive trend analyses for various business stakeholders
- Prior experience with subscription, financial reporting, and analysis (LTV, ARPU, ROI, retention, cohort analyses), and user engagement is a plus
- Experience with analyses around marketing effectiveness, revenue, ARPU, channel performance, and modeling of customer cohorts for various purposes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Junior UI/UX Designer

Responsibilities
As a Junior UI/UX Designer, you will assist in the UI/UX development for SHIELD’s products, and designing SHIELD’s graphic assets from time to time.
- Conduct user research to optimize the effectiveness of new and existing features and guide product design decisions and communicate results to internal teams
- Adhere to SHIELD’s set of established design and visual standards to ensure consistency across our product suite; advocate for UX improvements to create a high quality user experience
- Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
- Collaborate with the marketing team, and other teams in the development of marketing collaterals and assets
- Present design work to internal teams for review and iterate designs as necessary with feedback from internal teams
- Own SHIELD’s graphic design processes from start to finish, including initial sketches, presentation, and final execution
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of UX/UI design experience, with a demonstrated portfolio showing your design for both web and mobile platforms
- Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, Zeplin, iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with UI and UX design on large scale, complex business software system or business-oriented SaaS software systems
- Experience in developing rich UX/Front-end for user-facing web applications
- Experience in cross-browser and cross-device compatibility issues
- Knowledgeable in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, and well-versed in usability principles and techniques

They are now on the hunt for a Website Designer, who can aid with the needs of their clients, as well as design for the company itself.

Job Description Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer reports to the QA Practice Lead, supporting development squads by delivering software validation capability. Working with team members to enhance the quality of delivered software, this role has a strong grasp of software quality metrics and the repeatable tooling used to validate its behaviour. The successful candidate will have an engineering background across n-tier application architectures, a passion for building robust solutions, and the technical knowledge to bring their ideas to reality.
Working as part of the Digital Innovation Group, you will be shaping our partner-facing technology solutions and internal capability, working on a modern cloud-native architecture.
Key Outcomes
- Deliver software quality assurance as a member of delivery squads:
- Engage with Product Managers, Analysts, Architects, and Developers to understand the intended behaviour of software.
- Prioritise areas of high risk and develop automated QA solutions to validate software.
- Review unit test coverage and quality, identifying weaknesses and testing gaps to be resolved before code is merged into production codebases.
- Develop automated UI tests to drive user interfaces and validate user journeys.
- Capable of creating strategies for test data management across a variety of separate systems which can be used to validate requirements.
- Apply quality assurance in depth, using unit, integration, behaviour, and performance testing to holistically benchmark and improve software quality.
- Coach teams to write consistent, testable requirements.
- Work with DevOps team members to embed automated QA cycles in CI/CD processes.
Skills & Experience
- Experience testing distributed web-based systems built with Microsoft technologies and cloud, including:
- .NET, particularly Core using C#
- NoSQL solutions
- REST-based APIs
- Front-end SPA technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
- Automated CI/CD processes which include quality and security controls
- Gherkin syntax (we use the Vividus test framework)
- Git branching, policies, PRs and performing code reviews
- Work well as part of a team:
- Influencing and guiding team members to improve tests and code quality
- Take ownership of quality problems and deliver technical solutions
- Participate in Agile Team ceremony as part of delivery squads
- Liaise with requirement owners to identify efficiencies in quality control
- Familiar with automation:
- Principles of CI/CD pipelines
- Approval gateways and risk-based reviews
- Use of automation for quality management of a software platform rather than a product
- Azure DevOps and Git as a code repository, build, test, and deployment engine
- Fast learner, able to explore, assess, and evaluate new technologies accurately and independently
- Experience implementing complex software solutions for financial services / advice / wealth management customers
- Personable technical communicator able to encourage and motivate others to improve software quality
- Good verbal skills – ability to readily explain requirements, needs, and controls to others
- Good written skills – ability to describe tests in both code and document form
